MOLBY BACKS LAUDRUP

Ex-Swansea player-manager Jan Molby has said that the former Barcelona playmaker Michael Laudrup will be a great manager for Swansea.

The former Real Beltis manager has been linked with the Swansea job. Swansea recently lost their manager Brendan Rodgers, who left the club for Liverpool.

They received compensation of around £ 7 million for the former Chelsea assistant manager. Immediately after the exit of Brendan Rodgers, Swansea have been keen on appointing the next manager ahead of the pre-season. A number of managers have been linked with the job following the exit of Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool, but it is thought that Michael Laudrup will be named as the Swansea manager within a week.

Jan Molby has said that his compatriot will be a great manager for Swansea due to the fact that he does not deviate from their style of play. Swansea gained a lot of recognition for their attractive style of football, which they maintained even after promotion into the Premier league.

Michael Laudrup, who is regarded to be one of the greatest players for Barcelona, is also a firm believer of the fact that football should be played on the ground. As a result, it would be a marriage made in heaven according to Jan Molby.

"Over the last couple of days the rumours have grown stronger and stronger. I'm at a hotel in the Ukraine with an awful lot of Danish journalists [covering Euro 2012] and they all seem pretty sure that Denmark is about to have their first manager in the Premier League. I think he'll do well... I know Michael was very impressed with the way things are done [in the Premier League], they way in which he is in control of footballing matters, selling of players, buying of players," said Jan Molby in response to the speculation linking Michael Laudrup with the Stoke City job.
