MORE PRAISES FOR RENILWE LETSHOLONYANE

Midfielder Renilwe ‘Yeye’ Letsholonyane has received many praises from many for his exploits.

Super Sport United coach Stuart Baxter has joined in praising the player, comparing him to one of the Danish legends Michael Laudrup.

“When I was in Japan [at Vissel Kobe] we signed Laudrup from Real Madrid and he was probably the best player I have ever coached. I watched him and said to him; ‘Michael I think at heart you are just a young kid from Denmark that wanted to play football and even though you have been at Barcelona and Real Madrid, you are still just a kid that wants to play football,” said Baxter.

Yeye won the Man of the Match Award for a second successive time as his club thrashed Mamalodi Sundowns 3-1 in the Telkom Knockout Cup semifinals 5th November, 2016. The 34-year old star player was a constant figure all through the 120 minutes of football. In addition, he had earlier inspired Super Sport United to a 6-1 victory over Orlando Pirates. After his exit from Kaizer Chiefs at the end of the last term, many questioned his abilities but the player has quickly showed his capabilities.

“I remember that with taking Yeye back because that’s what Yeye is. Yeye is just really a kid that wants to have the ball and enjoy himself. So, as long as he has a role that he understands he can immerse himself in that and he plays.

“I asked him [Yeye] that question there, ‘how did you keep going?’ because he was supporting players in their box and breaking up play on the edge of our box. I think it is like a child, try and keep up with a child when they are playing all day and you will go down. That is what Yeye is,” Baxter added.
