UNITED LINKED TO 'NEW LAUDRUP'

Manchester United are closely tracking the 19-year-old Christian Eriksen, who is referred in many quarters as the next Michael Laudrup. This is quite a praise for a player who is only 19 years old, but the simple fact that Sir Alex Ferguson is closely monitoring the situation is more than enough to convince the other suitors that he is indeed something special.

Despite being relatively young, the Denmark international has been involved in the national team for quite some time now. He was one of the main performers for the Denmark national team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It was rumoured that many clubs would be making official offers for him back then itself.

However, these rumours have not materialised, although Manchester United are believed to have kept a close eye on him since then. Michael Laudrup was combination of everything that is essential for midfielder; he had the passing ability, the touch, and the vision. These qualities made Michael Laudrup one of the most important midfielders for Barcelona and Real Madrid. Initially, Michael Laudrup was comparable to the great Johan Cruyff and these comparisons later turned out to be true. Now, many expect Christian Eriksen to be more of the same.

It is expected that Christian Eriksen would cost Manchester United around £30 million should they decide to make an official offer. Former United schemer Arnold Muhren said, “Christian has got very good vision and lovely technique. He is a footballer there is no doubt about that.” This would make him one of the highest-paid teenagers in the world. Christian Eriksen is also not an important part of the Denmark national team, but also for the Ajax team as well. He graduated from the Ajax youth academy, which has produced many famous players over the years, and was responsible for the Dutch club's title successes recently.
