Davies Can Win CL: Michael Laudrup

Michael Laudrup has a strong belief on Ben Davies. He picked Davies from academy football. Laudrup believes that he has the potential to win the Champions League along with Tottenham Hotspur. Laudrup, who won the European Cup in 1992 with Barcelona, have a strong feeling that the record that Spurs have created during this season will make them a strong contender.

In an interview, Laudrup said, "The team has all potential and we should give them enough chance to lifting the trophy." He further added that "Liverpool is everyone's favorite, this season in the Tottenham has played well and have survived several times in the Champions League: in the group stage opposite Manchester City and semi-final opposite Ajax."

Davies after his amazing performance becomes the only seventh footballer of Welsh, who won the biggest prize of European club football, after Ian Rush, Ryan Giggs, Joey Jones, Jayne Ludlow, Jess Fishlock and Gareth Bale. Laudrup picked Davies, when Neil Taylor, the regular left-back of Swansea at the time, got injured and suffered from a serious injury in the ankle.

Laudrup said, " Alan Curtis informed me about Ben and then I saw in him in the training, and he didn’t disappoint me when he came on the ground." He further added, "This was merely a coincidence that Ben got a place in the team after Taylor injury, but even if Neil had been injured Ben would have made his way – maybe sometime later.”

Laudrup praised Ben and said, "Davies is a young guy and he is very professional for his game. He has a hunger to improve his game and be better from the past. He is football-intelligent, that means he knows well, what he has to do in a specific playing situation. He has all the quality to win the championship this time.”
