There are reports that retired Danish footballer and Ex-Manager of Qatar Stars League club Lekhwiya, michael laudrup, might take over at Ajax as coach Frank de Boer resigns.
The coach who is a brother to fellow retired Danish footballer Brian Laudrup is named among others as possible replacement for the outgoing Ajax coach.
A host of Holland media are reporting that former AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf is on Ajax’s shortlist also to replace Frank de Boer who handed his resignation after the Lancers’ title blow on the last day of the season. Seedorf is seen as the likely candidate to be picked for the job and Seedorf will see his contract with AC Milan expiring in June this year. Michael Laudrup, Jaap Stam and Van den Brom are the other candidates rumoured to take over at the Allianz Arena in the summer.
Aside the Ajax offer, Laudrup is also named as one of the possible candidates to ever take over from current long term coach of English Premier League giant, Arsenal FC. Though Arsene Wenger is poised to continue at the London club next season, but his job has never been this threatened as the gunner fail to lift the EPL title in several years.
Over the years, other candidates have been suggested as potential successors to Arsene Wenger, including Harry Redknapp and Owen Coyle. The other week, a fully grown adult guest on an Arsenal podcast even suggested a managerial duo of Eddie Howe and George Graham. There are even ideas that Wenger should be replaced by Thierry Henry. With this week’s news that the club’s record goalscorer has been offered a coaching role with Arsenal Under -18s, some Gunners are suggesting that he will one day become the first-team boss. The Arsenal offer for Laudrup might be long shot but if Seedorf passes on the Ajax offer, Laudrup might be Ajax’s new manager.
