Tottenham Facing Stiff Competition In Race To Sign Player Likened To Laudrup

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur are already making preparations ahead of the summer transfer window and are already eyeing their top transfer targets ahead of the window opening in the summer. Spurs manager José Mourinho has already told the club's board that he would like them to complete transfer deals as early as possible and even suggested that they should start entering negotiations with clubs to make the processes easier and smooth.

For the past few weeks, Tottenham have continued to be linked with Mikkel Damsgaard and according to multiple reports, they will go ahead and make a move for him in the summer. The midfielder, who has been likened to Michael Laudrup has been outstanding for his club this season and has attracted a lot of interest from clubs across Europe, including Tottenham who may find it slightly difficult to land their transfer target in the summer.

Aside from the fact that Damsgaard's club Sampdoria will be very much unwilling to part ways with their young midfield sensation , some other top clubs are entering the race to snap him up and it may become almost impossible for Mourinho to have him signed under the Spurs wage bill in the summer ahead of next season.

Sampdoria's Serie A rivals Inter Milan have joined the race to sign Damsgaard, including Premier League Champions Liverpool, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, as well as Atletico Madrid have all outlined their interest in the 20-year-old, making it hard for those involved to sign him from Sampdoria.
The young midfielder has already been involved in six goal-contributions this season and has scored a total of 15 goals in just 21 appearances in his career. He is seen as a future star and will reportedly not be allowed to leave on a cheap.
