According to reports, West Ham United are closely monitoring Sampdoria’s young midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard and are planning to make an official offer for him in the summer. This is according to the report compiled and released by Club Doria who are insinuating that the Hammers are readying fee said to be around the region of £18 million to snap him up.
However, David Moyes’s is not the only manager interested in signing the young talented midfielder as he faces stiff competition from the likes of fellow Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus. The 20-year-old midfielder joined Sampdoria only last September but had gone on to impress not just everyone at the club, but also clubs outside Italy and across Europe.

His value has now increased massive and is now over triple the amount he was bought for. He has featured in up to 20 games for Sampdoria so far this season in all competitions, with 17 of those appearances coming in the Serie A while the other three were in Cup games. During that period, he has scored two goals and registered three further goals.
Club Doria also reported that West Ham have made advancements and have had contact with the youngster’s agent but there has not been any official bid made yet. His manager once spoke highly of him and said he is the best Danish player he has seen.
