José Mourinho's reputation as a legend among football managers across the world of football took another stain after he was fired as Tottenham Hotspur manager in the last week. The Portuguese manager got the sack after being unable to steer the club away from the poor run of results they were getting, forcing club owner Daniel Levy to dish out the sack letter to the former Manchester United manager..
It continues the famous trend of him always ending up getting fired at the clubs he's been to, from during his time at Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid, Premier League side Chelsea (over two stints), and Manchester United. He is now out of management and will reportedly need to sit back and evaluate his career before taking up his next managerial role.
And now, former Tottenham player Michael Laudrup has insisted that Mourinho's tactics are outdated and that they need to be changed. Laudrup mentioned that the Portuguese's time as an outstanding manager is well over and he should now focus on putting back his career on track before he tries to take up another coaching role at another club.
According to Laudrup, Mourinho needs to change the manner in which he approaches games, and how he talks about his players in public. At his last job where he managed Manchester United, Mourinho had a fall-out with several players of the Red Devil's first team, with the likes of Paul Pogba and Luke Shaw suffering public bashing from him.
At Tottenham, he fell out with Daniel Rose, Eric Dier, and Ndombele, while also calling them out and bashing them in the media. Laudrup says those acts do not help players improve, and he should try out a different approach if he takes up another role.
